Easter Weekend

Easter was a fun weekend for us. A friend of ours was celebrating her 7th birthday and wanted to go camping on the beach. We decided at the last minute while driving home from work Friday to join them. So we quickly threw all our camping gear in the trunk and had a semi-roughing-it overnighter. The kids had a blast and slept like logs. I on the other hand was just hating myself for not packing the ear-plugs. Sleeping on a tropical beach sounds fabulous and all but the pounding surf and 15mph winds make a lot of noise. I never sleep well the first night in a new place anyway so it was not a restful night for me but it was fun anyway.

Do I smell Spam?
Mmmmmmm sounds like bacon! You know what camp food does to me Mom! Love the drool.

Saturday morning we went to the annual community Easter Egg Hunt at a nearby ranch. They found a few eggs and got to act like monkeys, ride horses and harrass the Easter Bunny who arrived on horseback naturally. Then it was back to the beach for more birthday partying and another egg hunt - with much fuller baskets.

Sunday morning Zana woke up almost an hour before anyone else and found the new DVDs the Easter Bunny had delivered during the night. She almost finished watching the first video before anyone else woke up. Very unlike her to be the first to wake-up but I guess the holiday bugs must have been biting or something.

After breakfast we hunted out all the Easter eggs which that crazy Easter Bunny had hidden all over our house. We sure did a lot of egg hunting this year.

Zeth went from barely scooting and almost sitting up to lightning-speed belly crawling, turning and sitting independently over the course of the past 2-weeks. Now he's pulling himself up and getting around really quickly. Too quickly. He is eating baby foods regularly - which he absolutely loves. Talks about "da-da-da-da" constantly and is getting even quicker about pulling hair, if that's possible.
