One gorgeous sunrise, five-girlfriends, seven-turtles, hundreds of fish, millions of gallons of water and a brand new Kbim. I'm back! It's been 5.5 years since the days of 5:30a.m. lap swims at W-Bay with my girlfriends but today we were back and it felt sooOOOOOoo good! In the pool, I'm pretty slippery still with my cap & goggles but when I'm at W-Bay, I just gotta don the snorkel & fins for my laps. Sightseeing while exercising, what could be better?
I would have been thrilled to see one turtle but to bump into four of them all together on the same rock was incredible. Back in the day, we used to see the same 3 or 4 turtles doing their thing every morning but they were rarely ever together. And the Parrot fish were everywhere. They kinda scare me with those beaks that could snap off my fingers like french fries but they are so beautiful to watch. It's great to see that the conservation efforts are really working and the marine life is flourishing in my favorite bay.
Cruising along amongst the schools of fish, it dawned on me just how lucky I am to live so close to one of God's amazing aquariums and how cool it is that I don't have to clean the tank but still get to enjoy it. :)

It's a Crepe, It's a Cake
It's Big-R's birthday today. What do you feed a French man on his birthday? Chocolate-Banana Crepe-Cake naturallement! Even though R hardly ever eats breakfast, I sponged a brilliant idea from my sis yesterday (thanks J) as she served her hubby crepes for his birthday breakfast. (Happy Belated B!) So how do you make a classic crepe-cake you ask? I will show you.
First you grill up some medium sized crepes.

Start stacking layering with butter and Nutella (oh yeah!) and bananas.

Notice how the smell of hot crepes cooking draws out even the sleepiest of customers.

Get at least 9-12 layers built up and top with whipped cream.

Sing Happy Birthday real quick, Slice and Indulge!

Bon Anniversaire Daddy! Bon Appetit! Try not to fall asleep at work after you crash down from the sugar high!

Also, I'd like to wish a very happy 0th birthday to my newest nephew Iosua about to be born sometime today to Tati Marau & Mark in Tahiti. Can't wait to meet you!

Rare Sighting
I just noticed I don't appear in a single picture in any of my recent blog entries so here's some family photos from last Sunday with me in them for my fans (realizing that many of you don't love my hubby & kids nearly as much as you love moi!).

In case you've been wondering (and I'm sure you have) if I've changed much in the past 10-20 years, the answer is nope! Aside from a few new sun spots, wrinkles and gray hairs I'm pretty much the same as I was 10 years ago (in my opinion) externally at least. No extreme makeover yet. I wonder if I'll ever enjoy the same dramatic weight loss my sisters did years ago but that's highly unlikely given my present lifestyle. I absolutely love being a 30-something, despite dreading the thought of passing 29 a decade or so ago. I think life gets better with each passing decade so I just can't wait til I'm 103 by Jimminy!

Along those lines, tomorrow is my darling husband's birthday. I've asked, poked and prodded if he has any wishes, expectations, desires, anything for his birthday and he hasn't given me a clue. He's the kind of guy who just goes out and gets whatever material things he wants for himself so it's hard to come up with something he really wants and hasn't already bought for himself recently. (A terabyte darling!!?? How you get away with these things I'll never understand.)

Happy Birthday Big R! We love you!

Smiling Crocodile
This has been another rough week of teething for Zeth. However, this morning he woke up in a splendid mood and was his normal playful self sporting a new look. I like to call it the crocodile pose.

Peter Pan would say to "Never smile at a crocodile" but I beg to differ.
I also captured him playing his little diaper chase game and posted it on youtube. * Warning * partial nudity occurs towards the end of the clip. Hopefully I'm not breaking any decency laws. He's just such a little joker - I hope you're not offended.

Eight Ball Corner Pocket
Zeth is 8-months old today. Hooray! It's time for another update rundown on his developmental benchmarks. Lil speedy loves to zip around the house on all-fours. He draggs his right foot so that this week he's developed a blister on on the top of his big toe from all the tearing around he's doing. He is trying hard to stand and balance on his own. He'll be walking in no time.

His little personality just keeps developing. One of his favorite games is during diaper changes to flip over as soon as the diaper is off and crawl away giggling. He always cracks up when I say, "Where are you going?" in my gruffest voice and loves being caught. It's usually really cute - except when there's poop involved.
Despite a lot teething pains, still no teeth poking out but it hasn't deterred him from eating solid foods. Cheerios are all the rage and his sitter loves the fact that he pimps out his cereal to his playmates. He's developing great dexterity and motor skills just by picking up and eating cereal - who knew breakfast food could be so educational? For more fun with Cheerios, check out his latest clip on YouTube under zanazeth.

His hair is getting longer in the back and the curls are coming out. Dad thinks we should trim it, I say no way! He's pretty average as far as weight and height although people are always commenting on how tall he is. He's a giant spirit just bursting out of a little body.

Crickets
I sent out an email to many of my family and friends a couple days ago with my new cell phone # and the link to my blog with a subtle suggestion that I love visitors and readers who leave comments. So far all I've been hearing in response is ...crickets... So that leads me to believe that I really am alone out here - with the exception of my 2 faithful readers (you know who you are). Undeterred, I'm just going to carry on blogging as if this were a semi-personal journal and hopefully someday I'll somehow really appreciate having recorded everything for posterity.
Yesterday I took a turn dropping off Zana and her friend for gymnastics. She pleaded with me to just stay a few minutes and watch her. My initial reaction was, "I gotta get back to work" but when she asked again, I thought I can certainly spare 15 minutes to show support for something important to her from one of her biggest fans. She was thrilled. I pulled out my trusty Canon PowerShot 750 (love it!) and capitalized on the time to catch a few maneuvers.

Big hug with T. Awwww.
